This is a private class. We learn to chant chapters 1 and 2 of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra and discuss the meaning. Feel free to bring a translation you are interested in. If you are interested in this class, contact Ann for details.

Open Studio

This is not a formal class. The studio will be open for personal practice. One of my senior students will open the studio doors and guide the class through the Ashtanga Yoga Primary series. It could also be an opportunity to practice on your own. This is a donation class.

Led Primary Series

In a First Series Ashtanga class I will guide you through the 63 poses of the traditional practice. It’s fast paced and very challenging.

The class begins with the first two Sun Salutations and the standing poses.
The first (Primary) series emphasizes floor work involving mostly twists, hip openers and forward folds. There are many poses in the First Series whose full expression requires years of effort for most practitioners.

This class is accessible to students of yoga who have some experience with Vinyasa yoga.

The class concludes with backbends, the finishing postures (headstand and shoulder stand) and “take rest” pose.

This class is taught on Wednesdays.
